Wasted potential- beauful hotel, chaotic staff and service

The pool. This is the heart of the place and is the overwhelming draw, especially as the ocean has rip currents and is generally unswimmable. The rooms were great and the private pool was great. The food was good although breakfast was just fruit and pastries- for the money we expected a lot more.

The staff were cold and we were told the general manager quit that day. It meant there was one person on service, who was exhausted and generally playing catch up. We got our lunch and they asked if we wanted condiments. That took 30 mins by which time we’d finished eating. There was little pro activity and it did feel like a rip off. Everything was a cost and was an effort for the staff. Without the pool the hotel is nothing. It’s a design hotel and the staff need to match it. They got our bill wrong at the end, trying to charge us significantly more than owed for the room- that’s the only feature which is agreed beforehand and they got it wrong. It took a while to sort. In that respect it was all a little chaotic for a setting which is beautiful and isolated. Wouldn’t stay here again for the rate, especially because of the chaotic staff.

exceptional location and beach. it is important to know that you might not be able to swim. it has the location of a exceptional 5 star property. very cute beach also. breakfeast was good.

rooms are open, therefore there is no closure to outside, especially when it comes to temperature. pool in the room and main pool was not very clean. service at beach is very slow as it seems it was a little understaffed. cleanliness in the room on the surface was good. when trying to chase off a bat we got on top of some furniture, it is evident that the room was not cleaned at the “non visible” places for a long time. many animal feeces etc. its nothing we want to criticise to hard as this hotel and the rooms are a little bit like camping in the nature. but it is important for the guests to know

Lots going for it, could be better

Room , location and service were all excellent

Breakfasts were good . The inclusive food in the evenings however was pretty variable . A first night meal was never matched Ingredients after this didn’t seem the best or freshest , and the chef’s skills seemed questionable Luckily we had a car rental and found some great lunch spots along the coast For the price, I think the kitchen needs to step up considerably The rooms can get breezy at night too due to design - ensure you find the quilt in the wardrobe

If money isn’t an issue it’s worth leaving some there definitely and enjoy unplugging on a beach to yourself

Incredible location, peaceful.

Price point seems a little high but as I heard before everything everywhere almost doubled in prices so. You get a whole palapa but not necessarily privacy. In need of some upgrades or fixing up at least to elevate the experience to a higher level.

amazing hotel as always

can’t do better than this hotel. right on the beach, beautifully designed, great food, wonderful staff.

we stayed here a few years ago and it was about 2/3 or 1/2 the price it is now. post covid everything is more expensive, but it’s starting to get to that point where it’s just a bit *too* expensive to justify.

Very Good

Beautiful setting by the beach and SO tranquil. Great sunsets in particular. The bungalow was tasteful and very clean. We even had a small private pool outside our room. Delicious food for dinner included with the room. The staff were all hugely attentive and accommodating.

The location of the hotel is very remote! Great for relaxation but a bit limiting after a while as you are 45-50 mins from Puerto Escondido and there is nothing in the vicinity. We stayed closer to Puerto Escondido afterwards which was a welcome contrast. The included breakfast was very simple - just cereal, fruit and yoghurt which was nice but not extravagant.

Exceptional

Simply, a stunning hotel. We absolutely loved our stay there - the beautiful design of the hotel, the quality of the food, being right on the beach, the remoteness and the comfortable rooms. It was exactly what we were looking for for our honeymoon and relaxing get-away.

This is critique on minor details, but because you pay a certain price I feel like I need to share it. Some waiters were not attentive enough and a bit slow - at breakfast on our last morning, most of the breakfast wasn't set up even though it was past 8 am when it was supposed to start (I guess time stands still and you really unwind, and it seems that the waiters do the same). We chose a half-board stay, which means breakfast and dinner included. Breakfast only had fresh fruit and cake included, warm dishes had to be paid for (egg or Mexican dishes). Dinner was great with the option to choose between 2-3 dishes per course but the portions are tiny (my husband and I once chose the same dessert, a strawberry/chocolate tart, and it came as ONE portion but split in two on two separate plates). I really feel like every person deserves their own normal-sized portion as well as at least one egg dish for breakfast ;-) It also takes a long time to get there, it's a remote location (which we loved) but the road leading up to the hotel is very bumpy. These points led to the summary that - even though it's a fantastic design hotel - I would not pay the same price again.

Beautiful beach retreat

Amazing, intimate retreat away from crowds. Excellent service and great food. Rooms are slightly older than other Habita properties but comfortable.

Breakfast buffet (included in rate) was extremely limited.
